City Hardware was the brainchild (ok, it was really just a good idea) of me, Marc Gimbel, Seattle city dweller and somewhat handy man.

Realizing what a drag it is when you’re planning or in the middle of a project to drive all the way to the big boxes and deal with the hopelessness there, I was inspired to find a great location within the city core to open a smaller, friendlier neighborhood hardware store - a place you can stop by, chat about your project, get real customer service and all the good stuff you need to make your space great!
At the start, we teamed with Ace Hardware and Benjamin Moore Paints to be able to offer more than 65,000 different high-quality items.  In 2012, we separated from Ace Hardware to become a fully-independent hardware store, and still a Benjamin Moore Paints dealer.  As an environmentally conscious urban dweller, I’m also always looking for new eco-friendly products to offer as alternatives to traditional, less-friendly stuff, so look for Green Zone signs throughout the store to locate these products.  And if you don’t find what you’re looking for, tell us!  We’ll do our best to stock what you need.
We’re locally-owned and operated - you’ll find me in the store most any time - so stop by and say, hello!  We’d love to meet you.

And bring Fido along.  Bear will make him (or her) feel right at home!

Marc
